Background:
Small Axe partnered with The National Union of Teachers to produce a video the was released on Facebook and YouTube in the run up to the general election on 8th June 2017. The film, titled The Truth About School Cuts, explains that under the current government, schools are set to lose over £8.9bn in the next 5 years. The campaign is accompanied by a website which allows users in search for their local schools and see the impact the cuts will have.
Objective:
The video was seeded online to create awareness and drive views.
Strategy:
Outreach was undertaken to various websites and blogs, including those with a focus on Education, Politics and Parenting to encourage posting and social sharing.
Results:
- 18 pieces of coverage secured reaching over 16m MUV
- Social media shares to over 600k fans and followers
- 38k+ views contributed to the YouTube video (30k via YouTube promotion)
- 15 inbound links created to https://schoolcuts.org.uk
